Funeral services for Dorothy Faye Guest, 48, were held Friday, April 9, 2004 at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain.

Dorothy Faye Ellis was born on February 12, 1956 at Chamberlain to Dale and Dorothy (Mills) Ellis. As a child, she lived at Bull Creek until the age of 5 when the family moved north of Oacoma. Dorothy attended the Lindley Country School at rural Oacoma until the eighth grade and graduated from Chamberlain High School at Chamberlain in 1974.

On June 14, 1974, Dorothy was united in marriage to Jim Guest at Chamberlain. They made their home in Chamberlain where she worked at the Cozard Memorial Library and later at the Chamberlain Clinic for Dr. L.W. Holland and C.F. Binder.

After the birth of their first child, Angie, Dorothy decided to remain at home. They purchased the Homestyle Laundry Mat which Dorothy operated. A few years later, Dorothy began helping Jim at their business Guest Plumbing and Heating managing and doing the bookkeeping. Dorothy was very active in her religion by teaching Bible Studies, conducting a Bible Study group at the Chamberlain Academy, and was active in Awana at the First Baptist Church. She was proud of her faith and expressed it to everyone. She started a support group named H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Preserve Each Day) which ministered to people who had been affected by any sort of traumatic experience. Dorothy loved people and many people loved Dorothy. She was always giving herself in some way to help and support people. Dorothy passed away on April 5, 2004 at Mid Dakota Medical Center at Chamberlain at the age of 48 years, 1 month, and 25 days.

Surviving is her husband Jim Guest of Chamberlain; mother Dorothy Ellis of Reliance; son Adam Guest of Phoenix, AZ; daughters Angie Guest of Brookings and Abbe Guest of Chamberlain; grandson Logan Guest of Brookings; sister Laura (Don) Fletcher of Reliance; brothers LeRoy (Sharon) Ellis, Marlin (Delaine) Ellis all of Reliance, and Merrill Ellis and Linda Den Beste of Chamberlain. Preceding her in death was her father Dale.
