Sunday blizzard drops seven inches of snow on area

Snow storm closes I-90
Interstate 90 from Wall to Sioux Falls was reopened Monday morning around 9:00 am after being closed most of the Sunday due to blizzard conditions. Interstate 29 from Sioux Falls to the North Dakota border reopened later in the day.
The South Dakota DOT closed I-90 from Wall to Chamberlain Sunday morning, and later in the day extended the closure from Chamberlain to Sioux Falls.
The South Dakota Legislature canceled sessions for Monday to allow extra time for law makers to return to Pierre. This week’s session will run from Tuesday through Friday.
Many events and activities around Lyman County scheduled for Sunday were canceled due to the weather. Classes were canceled at Lyman School Monday, Feb. 11th
The basketball game against Chamberlain scheduled for Monday night has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 18.
National Weather Observer Charles Bowar of Kennebec reported a snow fall total of 7-inches, and just a little over a half inch of precipitation.
