Roy Cramer, Jr., 80
Roy Cramer, Jr., 80, Rapid City, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Funeral services were on Friday, September, 4, 2009, at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Reverend Herb Celveland officiating. Burial followed at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis with military honors provided by Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the South Dakota Army National Guard.
Roy Cramer, Jr. was born July 15, 1929, at Presho to Roy and Minnie (Halgrimson) Cramer.
Roy served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He married Evelyn Ruth Lien on September 10, 1954, at Presho. Roy had a long and distinguished career with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1984. Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved exploring the outdoors, including rock and fossil hunting. He is survived by his wife, Evy Cramer of Rapid City, daughter Sharon Stiegers of Littleton, CO; son Steve Cramer of Rapid City and sister Myrtle Lantz of Rapid City. Roy had five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Hank Cramer and Marion Cramer and three sisters, Gertie Schoenhard, Alice Cannon and Ruth LaCroix.
