The Lyman Raider football team ended their season with their only loss to Emery/Ethan in the semi-final game Saturday, November 7 in Presho 31-22.

The Raiders won the toss and elected to defer until the second half.  Reed Reuman kicked off to start the first quarter.  The Seahawks marched down field but turned the ball over on downs  near Lyman’s end zone.  A fumble by the Raiders in their first possession resulted in a two-point safety putting Emery/Ethan on the scoreboard first.

Reed Reuman intercepted the ball on the Raider’s 29 yard line with just over four minutes to go in the first half but Emery/Ethan’s tough defense held Lyman who ended up having to punt the ball.  The Seahawks took advantage of the turnover and marched the ball 69 yards for the first touchdown of the game with 1:45 left.

With under a minute to go in the first quarter, the Raiders were once again forced to punt the ball away.  A short punt by Reed Reuman hit an opposing player and was recovered by Lyman on the Emery/Ethan 36-yard line.  The first quarter ended 10-0 Emery/Ethan.

A one-yard touchdown run with 1:02 remaining before the half by Logan Reuman resulted in Lyman’s first score of the game. The two-point conversion was no good.   The Seahawks led at half time 10-6.

A 49-yard run by Reed Reuman and two-point conversion by Dawson Jandreau gave the Raiders their first lead in the game 12-10 in the third quarter.  Emery/Ethan quickly responded with a 66-yard drive once again putting them on top 18-14.

During the fourth quarter, Jandreau ran in a one-yard touchdown putting the Raiders ahead once again 20-18.  Stetsen Eriksen was brought onto the field to kick the extra point. A fake kick by the Raiders resulted in a two-point conversion from Logan Reuman to David Estes extending the Raider lead 22-18.

With only two minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks drove down the field for another touchdown and two-point conversion, once again putting them in the lead 24-22.  The Raiders threw an interception which resulted in a 29-yard run by Emery/Ethan, who kicked a field goal sealing their win 31-22.

Dawson Jandreau was the leading rusher for the Raiders with 99 yards and a touchdown.  Reed Reuman followed with 53 yards and a touchdown and Logan Reuman added another 50 yards and touchdown.  Shae McClanahan caught four passes for 55 yards.
