Emma Michalek, 75
Funeral services for Emma Michalek were held on November 11, 2009 at Murdo United Methodist Church with burial at Murdo City Cemetery.

Emma Bertha Kenobbie was born on July 12, 1934 at 12:00 pm the twelfth child weighing 12 pounds to Mary (Krause) and Andrew Kennobie at her Grandma Krauses home in Reliance, SD.  She attended school in Reliance thru the 8th grade.  September 14, 1950 she married Leon Michalek.  At that time, they moved to a ranch north of Murdo until 1982 when they moved into town where she continued to live until her death.

Mary A. Halverson, 77
Funeral services for Mary Halverson, 77, of Chamberlain, SD were held Monday, November 16, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Reliance, SD followed with burial at the Reliance Cemetery. Mary died Thursday, November 12, at her home in Chamberlain.

Mary Alvina Kenobbie was born June 18, 1932 to Andrew and Mary (Krause) Kenobbie at home one mile north of Medicine Butte in Lyman County.  She married Alvin Michalek on February 26, 1948.  To that union four children were born. 

Anna I. Moran, 88
Anna I Moran, 88, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died Sunday Oct. 25, 2009. Memorial services were held Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009 at the Landing Retirement Home.

Anna was born Aug. 30, 1921 at Kimball, S.D. to Henry and Hannah (Cedarholm) Johnson. Anna grew up in Kennebec S.D., attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls and became a country school teacher.

Maci Busack, 16

Funeral services for Maci Busack, 16 of Presho, who died Friday, November 13 as a result of a an automobile accident will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 1 pm at the Lyman High School Auditorium.  Burial will follow at the Presho City Cemetery.

Maci Marie Busack was born on December 23, 1992 at Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD.  She attended elementary school in Chamberlain and Lyman and middle and high school at Lyman where she participated in basketball, track and AAU Wrestling.

Alexis Bowsher, 19
MOHALL - Alexis “Lexi” Bowsher, 19, Mohall; died Friday, November 13, 2009 in an automobile accident near Presho, SD.  Funeral services were Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church , Mohall, ND with burial following at Rosehill Memorial Park , Minot, ND.

Lexi was born July 14, 1990 in Minot to Thom and Deb (Lower) Bowsher.  She was primarily raised in Minot.  The family moved to Lake Poinsett, SD where Thom was a camp director.  They moved to Mohall in 2004 where her father was the pastor of the Souris Valley Parish United Methodist Churches.  In June, her father was moved to serve the Lyman County Parish United Methodist Churches in Presho, SD.  It was not long after that Alexis decided she did not want her D-dad, as she lovingly called him, to be in Presho alone, so she moved to join him.  She was currently studying Athletic Training at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD, and working at Hutch’s restaurant, the local café in Presho.

Diane Hrabe, 61
Funeral services for Diane Hrabe, 61, of Chamberlain were Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain.

Diane Elaine Berg was born April 13, 1948 to Walter and Viola (Mannhalter) Berg at Chamberlain.  She attended grade school and high school at Reliance where she graduated in 1967.  After high school, she attended Stewarts School of Hairstyling in Sioux Falls. 

Carrol Stewart, 82

Funeral services for Carrol I. Stewart, 82 of Reliance, SD will be Friday, November 20, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Reliance, SD with burial in the Reliance Cemetery at Reliance.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Hickey-Wevik Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain.

Carrol Ivan Stewart was born to R.W. and Veva Lois (Rockafellow) Stewart on January 12, 1927 on the Jesse Wilbur Stewart homestead seven miles south of Reliance.  In 1933, at the age of six, he started grade school at West Cooper School.  Carrol attended high school and graduated from Reliance High School in 1944.  He was drafted into the U.S. Army and left on a troop train to Fort Snelling from Reliance in June of 1944.
