Virginia Wolcott, 89
Funeral services for Virginia Wolcott, 89, Chamberlain, SD were held Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain.
Virginia Mae Haley was born January 5, 1920 to Virgil and Margaret (Dominiack) Haley. She was raised with eight siblings. She attended school in Murdo and Chamberlain, graduating from Chamberlain High School.
Burke Severyn, 84
Burke Severyn, 84 of Pierre, formerly from Vivian, died Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be Friday, December 4, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Vivian Lutheran Church followed by the burial at the Vivian Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 3 from 5 - 6:30 pm at Maryhouse Chapel in Pierre with a prayer service at 6:30 pm.
Burke Severyn joined one brother and three sisters on July 2, 1925 in rural Kennebec the son of Adolph and Pearl (Dowell) Severyn. At the age of two he moved with his family to their farm south of Vivian where he spent many years.
Sylvia Wolcott, 100
Funeral services for Sylvia Mae Wolcott, 100, of Cedar Rapids, IA will be Thursday, December 3 at 10:00 AM, at the Hickey-Wevik Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain with burial at the Reliance Cemetery at Reliance, SD. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with the family present at the Hickey-Wevik Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain.
Sylvia “Mae” (House) Wolcott, 100 years 6 months, went to be with her Lord on November 20, 2009. She died of old age, with complications of dementia.
Ardean Schoenhard, 60
Funeral services for Ardean Schoenhard, 60, of Reliance, SD were held Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain.
Ardean Mary (Lux) Schoenhard was born August 20, 1949, at Mitchell, SD, to Louis John and Veryl Marie (Briggs) Lux. Ardean graduated from Reliance High School in 1967. She remained in the Lyman County area working as a caregiver and at the family café and motel then eventually becoming a housewife and homemaker raising her “perfect” children as Ardean would put it. Ardean battled cancer for 17 years beating the odds with her strong will and determination. She passed away at Sanford USD Medical Center on November 26, 2009 surrounded by her family.
Ernest Holzhauser, 85
Funeral services for Ernest H. Holzhauser, 85, of Chamberlain, SD will be Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hickey-Wevik Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain with burial of the ashes at a later date in the Pukwana Cemetery at Pukwana. Visitation will begin one hour before services on Friday at the Hickey-Wevik Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain.
Ernest Henry Holzhauser was born January 23, 1924 to Joseph and Elizabeth (Kelsel) Holzhauser at White Lake, SD. He attended country school at White Lake.
Alexis Bowsher, 19
A memorial service for Alexis “Lexi” Bowsher will be held Wednesday, December 2 at 7 pm at the United Methodist Church in Presho.
