Richard D. Fletcher, 72
Funeral services for Richard D. (Dick) Fletcher, 72, Houston, Texas, were held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at the Cypress Creek Christian Church, Spring, Texas. He was buried in the Houston National Cemetery. He died December 12, 2003, in Houston.
Dick was born April 13, 1931, to William and Lillian (Johnson) Fletcher, at Reliance. He was one of nine children.
He graduated from Benson High school, Omaha, Nebraska, in 1949, and attended the Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas. Dick served in the U.S.Air Force during the Korean War.
In 1957, he married Monica Beringer. They lived in Houston since 1958.
He was the founder of Fletcher Real Estate Company; F and F Development, Style Homes, and numerous other real estate ventures.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Kathleen (Clay) Smilie and Constance (Curtis) Linder; a son, Richard (Rick) (Janey) Fletcher, Jr.; six grandchildren: Andrew, Tina, Phillip, Sarah Linder and Jenna and Alex Fletcher; three brothers: Cliff (Beth) Fletcher, Alliance, Nebraska, Laurel (Darlene) Fletcher, Larry Fletcher, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Monica; one brother, Evert; four sisters: Neva Erickson, Rapid City; Erma Fisk and Vera Lackey, Houston, Texas and an infant sister Ione.
