City of Presho accepts bid for Library remodel

The Presho City Council held a special meeting June 22 to review the submitted bids for the Library expansion and remodel project that will add 1,490 square feet to the current building for a total library space of 3,410 square feet.

Ciavarella Design Architects of Mitchell estimated the cost at $540,000 however three bids were received ranging from $548,000 to $496,600. The low bid from C. Eagle Construction of Rapid City was accepted.

The project was initiated by the generous donation of $300,000 from the Everett and Francis Terca Estate for the construction of a new library. In addition, the Presho Library will contribute $125,000 and the city of Presho $71,600 to fund the project.

Construction is expected to start in July 2020 and be completed by February 2021.
