Carole Anne Potter was born to Lloyd & Marguerite (Malloy) Dare on August 19, 1938 in Sturgis, SD. She attended St. Martin’s Catholic School in Sturgis until moving to Chamberlain in 1947. She graduated from Chamberlain High School in the class of 1956. She attended Mt. Marty College & Creighton University. Carole returned to Chamberlain to marry Rollin Potter in 1959. To this union they raised three daughters; Kamala Potter of Pittsburgh, PA, Kelli Potter (Dave Hoogendoorn) and Kristi Potter of Chamberlain. Over the years she and her family lived in Pukwana, Reliance and finally back to Chamberlain. Working different jobs over time, her longest career was a day care in her home where she cared for hundreds of kids over the years. She cherished the children and took great pride in decorating her home for all holidays and seasons, much to their joy. She dedicated over 40 years of her life to helping raise so many kids with her famous goulash and octopus cut hot dogs. Carole loved life to the fullest and enjoyed celebrating her Irish Heritage. She had a wonderful sense of humor, quick wit and made those around her feel so very loved. On October 2nd, Carole passed away at Sanford Long Term Care Center. Her last years of life were spent there and we have such comfort knowing the true love and compassion the staff gave her. It will be in our hearts forever.

Carole is survived by her 3 girls and her grandchildren; Noah & Emelia Sargent of Pittsburgh, PA. Memorials may be directed to either: Dakota Dachshund Rescue 7505 Mystic Drive Sioux Falls, SD 57110 or Fishing For A Cure Inc. 106 E Beebe Ave. Chamberlain, SD 57325.
