Jim Schmidt of Kennebec retired December 31st from the Kennebec elevator after nearly 40 years. Schmidt moved to Kennebec from Lantry, South Dakota and started work at the Farmers Union Elevator in 1968. At the time his cousin Floyd Eliason was the assistant manager under Jack McBrayer.
