In Loving Memory of Glenn Roy Sandal Glenn Roy Sandal, 91, peacefully left this world on January 4, 2024 at Avantara in Pierre, SD. Visitation was on Tuesday, January 9th from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Isburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10th at Faith Lutheran Church, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, all in Pierre.

Glenn Roy Sandal, born to Roy and Evelyn Sandal at Robbs Flat, embarked on his life's journey on July 16, 1932. He was married to the love of his life, Sharon D. Tipton, on June 18, 1960, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Pierre.

Their 45-year union was a testament to enduring love and companionship.

Glenn, a proud South Dakotan, spent his entire life in the state. He attended school at Robbs Flat and Pierre High School, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of hard work and dedication.

In service to his country, Glenn enlisted in the Air Force and devoted four years of his life (19531957) during the Korean War. He was stationed in Salina, KS, and various locations in Europe, serving with honor and distinction.

Upon returning to civilian life, Glenn, alongside his cousin Monte Curry and friend Kenny Pitlick, founded MGK Construction in 1961, a construction business that thrived until 1984. His prowess in construction and asphalt paving made him a respected figure in the industry. Later, Glen dedicated 25 years of his career to Morris, Inc. before embracing a welldeserved retirement.

Glenn's passion for heavy equipment and construction work was evident to all who knew him. He was not only an expert in his field but also an individual who embraced hard work without reservation.

An active member of various organizations, Glenn was part of the NRA, Pierre Shooting Club, and a local trap shooting club near the Oahe Dam. A true gun enthusiast and collector, he enjoyed shooting sports, reloading, and teaching hunter's education to area youth. Hunting and fishing adventures with his sons held a special place in his heart. Glenn was a storyteller and loved to share his adventures in the military and construction work.

Family meant everything to Glenn. He and Sharon had cherished traditions, including their nightly coffee rendezvous at local diners and Sunday morning breakfasts with their grandchildren.

These moments became a testament to the love and warmth that filled their home.

Glenn is survived by his sons Todd (Kristi), Pierre, Craig (Colleen), Flower Mound, TX, and Darren, Princeton, TX. He leaves behind grandchildren Kyrissa, Tyler (Brienne), Jared (Katie), and Dillon, as well as greatgrandchildren Melanie and

Louella.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Rita Weischedel and Marlene Young, and his beloved wife, Sharon.

While we mourn the loss of a remarkable man, we celebrate the legacy of a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Glenn, and may perpetual light shine upon you.
