Interment following at Calvary Cemetery.

Joanne was born to Lester and Dorothy Anderson on October 16, 1933, in Grand Island, Nebraska. Growing up in Omaha, she attended Sacred Heart High School for girls. She and Richard were married and started their family of six children while he went through medical school and residency at Creighton University. They later moved to Phoenix, where Dr. Richard was Chief of Staff. Upon returning to Omaha for private practice, Richard and Joanne were extensively involved in the community as well as supporting their family.

Joanne was always so charismatic and engaging, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate to know her.

Joanne’s faith and family were the utmost priorities in her life. She practiced her Catholic faith through her lifelong volunteer activities. Joanne distributed communion to people in the hospital as well as at church. She was a lifelong supporter of the Sisters of Notre Dame and the Christ Child Society. Joanne was very compassionate about Catholic education. She was instrumental in the merger of Notre Dame Academy and Rummel High School, and was one of the people that chose the current name of Roncalli High School. She served as the President of the Board of Education, chaired the High Tea fundraiser, the Festa De Leon fundraiser; and together with her husband, Richard, received the Pope John the 23rd Service Award.

Other volunteer activities included the Bergan Mercy Hospital Candlelight Ball, MOMSA, and Doctor’s Wives organizations.

Joanne found immense joy in playing cards and the thrill of gambling.

She taught all of the grandchildren to play many different card games. She played bridge several times a week in groups and bridge school.

Joanne cherished her family with an unwavering and boundless love. She recently celebrated 70 years of marriage with the love of her life, Richard. She was deeply connected with her family of six children, 20 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, and all of their families. She always wanted to hear about every detail of everyone’s lives! She never missed a wedding, graduation and any life celebration, as well as sporting events! She was happiest with a big houseful of family. Joanne created a legacy of love between her family that will endure beyond the confines of time. Joanne is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard Feldhaus; her children: Dr.
