Lauren Brakke (Miller), 66, of Presho, SD died Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Avera St. Mary Hospital in Pierre.

Graveside funeral service will be 11:30am on Saturday, January 6, 2024 in the Presho City Cemetery.

In loving memory of Lauren Brakke, born on November 30th, 1957 to Noble & Alys Ann (Cross) Brakke.

Lauren, was a cherished sister, devoted mother, adored grandmother, loving aunt, and a dear friend. As a sister, she was a pillar of support, fostering a lifelong connection with her siblings. Embodying the essence of motherhood, she dedicated herself to her children, offering guidance, unconditional love, and a

nurturing presence. Her legacy extends to her role as a grandmother, where she showered her grandchildren with affection and wisdom.

Lauren was a loving aunt and great-aunt who cherished time spent with her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

She was a steadfast friend and it was not uncommon for her to greet you with a joyful “Howdy!” Instead of a “Hello”.

As the eldest among her siblings—Neal, Sid, Jann, Joy, and Jordon—she played a nurturing role, epitomizing the strength of family bonds. She brought warmth and unity wherever she went. Her love knew no bounds, evident in the close bond she shared with her four children.

A dedicated mother, Lauren leaves behind a legacy in her four children— Amanda, Tyler, Tanner, Tell. Her love and guidance have shaped their lives, creating a lasting impact that will be cherished for generations to come.

As a grandmother, Lauren radiated joy and warmth, creating a haven of love for her grandchildren— Brady, Wes, Jack, Emery, Shepherd, Bronwyn. Her wisdom, laughter, and tender care she showered upon them will forever be etched in their hearts.

An adoring aunt, Lauren brought love and laughter to her many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Her nurturing spirit and caring presence make her a cherished figure in the lives of the younger generations, leaving an enduring legacy of family warmth.

Beyond familial ties, Lauren embraced her role as a friend, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. She had an unparalleled ability to provide comfort, understanding and a listening ear. He genuine kindness and unwavering support created a circle of friendship that extended far and wide, touching the lives of those fortunate enough to call her a friend.

As were reflect on the afternoon of December 24th 2023, when Lauren peacefully transitioned to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, let us remember her for the love she generously gave, the wisdom she imparted, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who were touched by her presence.
